How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Suncleanser.
2. When Suncleanser dies, Luminous Broodmoth triggers, returning Suncleanser from your graveyard to the battlefield with a flying counter on it.
3. When Suncleanser enters the battlefield, it triggers, removing the flying counter from Suncleanser.
4. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability.
5. Repeat.

This ingenious self-sustaining loop relies on Luminous Broodmoth's ability to continuously rescue non-flying creatures from the graveyard, bringing them back with a flying counter. By sacrificing Suncleanser to Altar of Dementia, you send it to the graveyard, which triggers the Broodmoth and mills your opponent. However, the true alchemy of this combination lies in Suncleanser's entry trigger: as soon as it returns, its ability strips away its own newly acquired flying counter, resetting the creature so it can be sacrificed to the Altar all over again.
