How it works

1. Activate Nykthos' second ability by paying 2 and tapping it, adding at least .
2. Cast Petals of Insight by paying , and choosing to pay an additional and reveal Psychic Puppetry from your hand, adding Psychic Puppetry's effects to Petals of Insight.
3. Resolve Petals of Insight, looking at the top three cards of your library, putting them on the bottom of your library, untapping Nykthos, and returning Petals of Insight to your hand.
4. Repeat.
5. If your devotion to blue is at least five, this combo nets infinite mana, and you may target any permanent using Psychic Puppetry's effect.

This ingenious engine centers around casting Petals of Insight repeatedly by utilizing its own text to return it to your hand while splicing Psychic Puppetry onto it for just a single blue mana. As long as your blue devotion is high enough to fuel Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, each iteration of the loop untaps Nykthos to easily pay for itself while generating an abundance of extra mana. Meanwhile, Vadrik, Astral Archmage sits proudly as a cornerstone of the strategy; even though its cost-reduction isn't strictly required to make the core loop fire, its presence scales your potential to absurd heights by slashing away extra costs.
