How it works

  1. Activate Urza by paying 6, creating a token copy of Magic Pot that is a 1/1 Soldier and a 1/1 Thopter artifact creature token.
  2. Activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing the Magic Pot token and the Thopter, adding CCCC.
  3. When the Magic Pot token dies, it triggers, creating a Treasure token and a 1/1 Thopter artifact creature token.
  4. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the Thopter, adding CC.
  5. Repeat.

This brilliant loop turns Urza, Prince of Kroog into a master of replication, fueled by the mana-generating engine of Ashnod's Altar. By paying into Urza's ability, you create a copy of Magic Pot that Stridehangar Automaton immediately supercharges by appending an extra Thopter token to the creation event. From there, sacrificing both the Magic Pot token and the generated Thopter to Ashnod's Altar yields more than enough colorless mana to sustain the loop. Meanwhile, the dying Magic Pot triggers to leave behind a Treasure token—which Stridehangar Automaton once again replaces with *another* bonus Thopter—ensuring your mana supply grows while you flood the board with an endless swarm of artifact creatures and tokens bolstered by Urza and Stridehangar Automaton's static anthems.
