How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Kitchen Finks.
2. When Kitchen Finks dies, its persist ability triggers, returning Kitchen Finks from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Kitchen Finks enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to gain 2 life.
4. Archangel of Thune triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control.
5. Repeat.

This brilliant loop turns an unassuming persist creature into an engine for infinite resources, anchored by the life-generating trigger of Kitchen Finks. Each time you sacrifice the Finks to Ashnod's Altar for a burst of colorless mana, it returns from the graveyard via persist with a -1/-1 counter, but the 2 life it gains upon re-entry immediately wakes up Archangel of Thune. The resulting wave of +1/+1 counters distributes across your board, neatly cancelling out the -1/-1 counters so the Finks is permanently ready to be fed back into the Altar.
