How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Kitchen Finks.
2. When Kitchen Finks dies, its persist ability triggers, returning Kitchen Finks from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Kitchen Finks enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to gain 2 life.
4. Spider-Man triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Kitchen Finks.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the life-gaining persistence of Kitchen Finks into a perpetual engine fueled by Ashnod's Altar, which feeds you infinite colorless mana every time the creature is sacrificed. The secret to keeping the loop going without running out of room for counters is Spider-Man, Peter Parker, whose watchful eye catches every instance of life gained from the Finks' arrival.
