How it works

1. Activate Xu-Ifit by tapping it, returning a creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield.
2. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the creature returned in step 1.
3. When the creature dies, Xu-Ifit triggers, untapping itself.
4. Repeat.

This elegant loop transforms the humble necromancy of Xu-Ifit, Osteoharmonist into an endless engine of sacrifice and resurrection. By outfitting our Osteoharmonist with Thornbite Staff, we gain both a ranged damage option and—more importantly—a critical triggered ability that untaps the equipped creature whenever *any* creature dies. Once a suitable creature is brought back to the field, Ashnod's Altar immediately dismantles it for two colorless mana, satisfying the Staff's death trigger and instantly readying Xu-Ifit to repeat the cycle. Because Xu-Ifit's ability strips the revived creature of its text box, we don't even have to worry about pesky ETB drawbacks, leaving us with a ceaseless cascade of sacrifices and infinite colorless mana.
