How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Nearheath Stalker
2. When Nearheath Stalker dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
3. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Nearheath Stalker
4. When Nearheath Stalker dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
5. Nearheath Stalker enters and dies as a state-based action due to having 0 toughness. Its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
6. Repeat from step 3.
