How it works
Cast Trait Doctoring by paying , changing all instances of "white" on Antler Skulkin to "black" until end of turn.
Activate Antler Skulkin by paying 2, giving Callous Sell-Sword persist until end of turn.
Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Callous Sell-Sword, adding CC.
When Callous Sell-Sword dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
Callous Sell-Sword enters the battlefield with an additional +1/+1 counter on it for each creature you controlled that died this turn.
Repeat from step 2.
This delightfully twisted loop turns a humble color-word-tweaking spell into a recursive engine by using Trait Doctoring to trick Antler Skulkin into granting persist to any creature you desire, regardless of its actual color. Once Antler Skulkin's modified ability targets the versatile Callous Sell-Sword // Burn Together, you can feed that creature into Ashnod's Altar to generate mana and fuel the activation cost over and over. Thanks to the wording on Callous Sell-Sword's front face, each time it returns from the graveyard via persist with a -1/-1 counter, it simultaneously enters with a matching +1/+1 counter because a creature died under your control—instantly neutralizing the counter penalty and allowing the loop to churn out infinite sacrifice triggers, enter-the-battlefield events, and ever-growing stats.
