How it works

1. Activate Survey Mechan by sacrificing it.
2. When Survey Mechan dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Survey Mechan from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Tormod triggers, creating two creature tokens.
4. Resolve the Survey Mechan ability, dealing 3 damage to any target and causing you to draw three cards and gain 3 life.
5. Activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing the two creature tokens, adding CCCC.
6. Cast Survey Mechan by paying 4.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop revolves around sacrificing Survey Mechan to Ashnod's Altar, generating the mana needed to recast it while triggering its massive activation ability. As Survey Mechan heads to the graveyard, Mortuary quietly intercepts it, placing the creature directly on top of your library so you can easily draw it again. Meanwhile, Tormod, the Desecrator watches cards leave your graveyard to manufacture Zombie tokens, and Parallel Lives steps in to double that production into a pair of bodies. Sacrificing those duplicated tokens back to Ashnod's Altar provides the surplus colorless mana required to fuel the entire engine infinitely, letting you convert a single mechanical bird into boundless damage, card draw, and lifegain.
