How it works
- Activate Survey Mechan by sacrificing it.
- When Survey Mechan dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Survey Mechan from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
- Quintorius triggers, creating two creature tokens.
- Resolve the Survey Mechan ability, dealing 3 damage to any target and causing you to draw three cards and gain 3 life.
- Activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing the two creature tokens, adding CCCC.
- Cast Survey Mechan by paying 4.
- Repeat.
This engine relies on recycling Survey Mechan through your library and back onto the battlefield, utilizing the mana generated by Ashnod's Altar to recast it endlessly. Each time Survey Mechan dies, Mortuary ensures it returns straight to the top of your library to be redrawn, while Quintorius, Field Historian triggers off that graveyard departure to spawn Spirits. To fuel this loop efficiently, Elspeth, Storm Slayer doubles the incoming token generation so that sacrificing them to Ashnod's Altar yields more than enough mana to recast Survey Mechan and burn your opponents out.
