How it works

  1. Activate Spike Feeder's second ability by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, causing you to gain two life.
  2. Lisette triggers, causing you to pay 1 to put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control.
  3. Herd Baloth triggers, causing you to create a 4/4 Beast creature token.
  4. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the Beast token, adding CC.
  5. Repeat.
