How it works

1. Cast Hangarback Walker by paying 1, causing it to enter the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
2. Activate Together Forever by paying 1, targeting Hangarback Walker.
3. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Hangarback Walker, adding CC.
4. When Hangarback Walker dies, Together Forever triggers, returning Hangarback Walker from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Repeat.

This loop turns the modest Hangarback Walker into an infinite mana and token factory by constantly recycling it through the graveyard. You start by using Honest Rutstein to reduce the Walker's casting cost, making it dirt cheap to replay each iteration. Ashnod's Altar provides the sacrifice outlet that generates colorless mana while sending the Walker to the graveyard, where Together Forever's activated ability steps in to return it straight to your hand. When the Walker finally dies with a stack of counters, its own death trigger floods the board with Thopter tokens, while Honest Rutstein can even be used to recur other fallen creatures along the way.
