How it works

1. During your upkeep, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Kuldotha Phoenix, adding CC.
2. When Kuldotha Phoenix dies, Sifter of Skulls triggers, creating a 1/1 Eldrazi Scion creature token.
3. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the Eldrazi Scion, adding CC.
4. Activate Kuldotha Phoenix by paying 4, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
5. Repeat.

This loop turns your graveyard into a perpetual engine by relying on the passive factory of Sifter of Skulls, which automatically spawns an Eldrazi Scion token every time a nontoken creature hits the graveyard. You feed Kuldotha Phoenix to Ashnod's Altar to generate two colorless mana, triggering the Sifter to leave behind a Scion that you immediately sacrifice to the Altar for two more mana. With exactly four colorless mana generated total, you can comfortably pay the metalcraft activation cost of Kuldotha Phoenix during your upkeep to bring it right back from the graveyard, setting the stage to repeat the cycle indefinitely.
