How it works
- Activate Havengul Lich by paying 1, allowing you to cast the Zombie card from your graveyard this turn.
- Cast the Zombie from your graveyard by paying 0 due to Rooftop Storm.
- Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the Zombie cast in step 2, adding CC.
- Repeat.
This ingenious loop transforms your graveyard into an endless engine of unlife by turning your discarded undead into a self-sustaining resource. Rooftop Storm is the cornerstone that eliminates the mana burden of casting your Zombie creature spells, while Ashnod's Altar provides the sacrifice outlet needed to generate a surplus of colorless mana. Havengul Lich ties the whole operation together by not only pulling those fallen monsters back from the graveyard for a single mana, but also temporarily absorbing their activated abilities as they return to the battlefield. By cycling the same Zombie between the graveyard and the battlefield over and over, you effortlessly generate an infinite storm count, endless sacrifice triggers, and boundless colorless mana.
