How it works
- Cast Rograkh either from your hand or from the command zone by paying 0 plus commander tax, if applicable.
- When Rograkh enters the battlefield, Cathars' Crusade triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control.
- Activate Together Forever by paying 1, targeting Rograkh.
- Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Rograkh, adding CC.
- When Rograkh dies, Together Forever triggers, returning Rograkh to your hand from your graveyard.
- Repeat.
This clever loop turns zero-mana commander casts into an engine of endless power by leaning heavily on passive scaling and sacrifice fodder. Because Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh costs nothing to cast, you can repeatedly deploy him to the battlefield, where Cathars' Crusade immediately rewards the entry by pumping your entire board with +1/+1 counters. Ashnod's Altar then digests the free creature for a pair of colorless mana, which helps pay the activation cost for Together Forever to bounce Rograkh straight back to your hand upon death instead of letting him stay in the graveyard.
