How it works

1. Activate Survey Mechan by sacrificing it.
2. When Survey Mechan dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Survey Mechan from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Quintorius, History Chaser triggers, creating two creature tokens.
4. Resolve the Survey Mechan ability, dealing 3 damage to any target and causing you to draw three cards and gain 3 life.
5. Activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing the two creature tokens, adding CCCC.
6. Cast Survey Mechan by paying 4.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop sets up an infinite engine centered on casting and sacrificing Survey Mechan while turning its journey into a resource-generating machine. Whenever you sacrifice Survey Mechan to Ashnod's Altar for mana, Mortuary catches it on the way to the graveyard and neatly places it back on top of your library. Meanwhile, that card leaving the graveyard triggers Quintorius, History Chaser, which spawns a Spirit token—an output that Parallel Lives eagerly doubles into two tokens. Sacrificing those tokens back to Ashnod's Altar provides the exact mana needed to recast Survey Mechan and do it all over again, drawing your deck, gaining life, and burning down any target in the process.
