How it works
Activate a basic Forest by tapping it, adding .
Activate Obscuring Aether by paying 1, turning it face-down as a 2/2 creature.
Activate Earthcraft by tapping Obscuring Aether, untapping the Forest.
Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Obscuring Aether, adding CC.
When Obscuring Aether dies, Yarus' second ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield face-down, then turning it face-up.
Repeat.
This clever engine uses Earthcraft to tap a face-down Obscuring Aether for mana by untapping a basic land, feeding that very same Obscuring Aether into Ashnod's Altar to generate colorless mana through its sacrifice. Because Obscuring Aether is a permanent card in your graveyard, the lingering presence of Yarus, Roar of the Old Gods triggers to immediately return it to the battlefield face down and turn it face up again, resetting the cycle. Meanwhile, Obscuring Aether's own cost-reduction ability quietly helps you manage your spells, and Yarus, Roar of the Old Gods also grants haste if you expand your board beyond this infinite loop of sacrifices and returns.
