How it works

  1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Butcher Ghoul, adding CC.
  2. Butcher Ghoul's undying ability and Blood Artist trigger.
  3. Resolve the Butcher Ghoul undying trigger, returning Butcher Ghoul from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
  4. Resolve the Blood Artist trigger, causing a player to lose 1 life and you to gain 1 life.
  5. Activate Ghave's first ability by paying 1 and removing a +1/+1 counter from Butcher Ghoul, creating a 1/1 Saproling creature token.
  6. Repeat.
