How it works

1. Activate Mite Overseer by paying 3W/P, creating two creature tokens.
2. When the creature tokens enter the battlefield, Pious Evangel triggers twice if it's on the battlefield, causing you to gain 2 life.
3. Activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing the creature tokens, adding CCCC.
4. When the creature tokens die, Wayward Disciple triggers twice if it's on the battlefield, causing you to gain 2 life and target opponent to lose 2 life.
5. Repeat.

This engine transforms a modest investment of life or mana into an unstoppable cascade of value, powered by the synergy between Chatterfang, Squirrel General and Mite Overseer. As Mite Overseer pumps out Phyrexian Mites, Chatterfang's replacement effect doubles your token generation by churning out an equal number of Squirrels alongside them. Pious Evangel—or its transformed face, Wayward Disciple—feeds off this revolving door of bodies, steadily draining your opponents while padding your life total every time a creature enters or leaves the battlefield. Finally, Ashnod's Altar converts that sacrificed token army back into a surplus of colorless mana, more than fueling the next iteration of the loop until victory is secure.
