How it works

1. Activate Survey Mechan by sacrificing it.
2. When Survey Mechan dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Survey Mechan from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Insidious Roots triggers, creating two creature tokens and putting two +1/+1 counters on each Plant you control.
4. Resolve the Survey Mechan ability, dealing 3 damage to any target and causing you to draw three cards and gain 3 life.
5. Activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing the two creature tokens, adding CCCC.
6. Cast Survey Mechan by paying 4.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop centers around Survey Mechan, whose hefty activation cost is heavily discounted by your diverse lands, allowing you to sacrifice it for a burst of damage, life, and card draw. As Survey Mechan heads to the graveyard, Mortuary instantly recycles it back to the top of your library while triggering Insidious Roots. Thanks to Primal Vigor doubling every token and counter generated, those leaving-graveyard triggers flood your board with Plant tokens and rapidly grow them. You can then sacrifice those extra tokens to Ashnod's Altar to easily generate the mana needed to recast Survey Mechan from your hand, keeping the engine running indefinitely.
