How it works

1. Put a +1/+1 counter on Herd Baloth
2. Herd Baloth triggers, creating a creature token.
3. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the creature token.
4. When the creature token dies, Long Feng triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Herd Baloth.
5. Herd Baloth triggers, creating a creature token.
6. Repeat from step 3.

This clever loop transforms a single counter into an engine of endless growth and resources, starting when you place a +1/+1 counter on Herd Baloth to trigger its ability and create a 4/4 green Beast token. You then feed that newly spawned token to Ashnod's Altar, sacrificing it to generate a pair of colorless mana. Crucially, as the token is put into your graveyard from the battlefield, Long Feng, Grand Secretariat's static triggered ability sees the loss and rewards you by placing a fresh +1/+1 counter back onto Herd Baloth. This restarts the whole process seamlessly, letting you scale your board and your mana pool to infinity.
