How it works

1. Activate Trenching Steed by sacrificing a land.
2. Repeat step 1 until you control no lands.
3. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing World Shaper.
4. When World Shaper dies, it triggers, return all lands from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
5. When the lands enter, Emeria Shepherd triggers that many times.
6. Resolve an Emeria Shepherd trigger that was triggered by a Plains, returning World Shaper from your graveyard to the battlefield.
7. Resolve all remaining Emeria Shepherd triggers.
8. Repeat

This ingenious cycle turns the sacrifice-heavy activation of Trenching Steed into a self-sustaining engine by stripping away your land base to feed the machine. Once your lands are gone, Ashnod's Altar steps in to sacrifice World Shaper, triggering its death ability to flood the battlefield with every land currently sitting in your graveyard. Those returning lands instantly awaken Emeria Shepherd's landfall ability, which allows you to bypass the hand restriction and drop World Shaper directly back onto the battlefield whenever a Plains enters. The result is an endless cascade of life-cycle triggers that effortlessly recycles your entire graveyard while generating boundless colorless mana.
