How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Haywire Mite.
2. When Haywire Mite dies, it and Mortuary triggers.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Haywire Mite from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Haywire Mite trigger, causing you to gain 2 life
5. Cast Haywire Mite from the top of your library by paying 1 life due to Gwenom.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the unassuming Haywire Mite into an unstoppable engine of recycling and life. By feeding the Mite to Ashnod's Altar, you generate a steady stream of colorless mana while triggering its death ability alongside Mortuary, which instantly redirects the Mite from your graveyard back to the top of your library. With Gwenom, Remorseless patrolling the battlefield, you can bypass normal casting costs and replay that exact same Haywire Mite straight off the top of your library. Because Gwenom lets you pay life instead of mana—and the Mite's own death trigger neatly offsets that cost by feeding you 2 life—the entire cycle sustains itself infinitely, netting you endless mana, life, and triggers.
