How it works
Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Nether Traitor.
Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing another creature.
When the creature dies, Nether Traitor triggers, causing you to pay to return Nether Traitor from your graveyard to the battlefield.
Kheru Goldkeeper and Insidious Roots triggers, creating a Treasure token, a 1/1 Plant creature token and putting a +1/+1 counter on each Plant you control.
Activate the Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding .
Repeat.
This clever loop turns the graveyard into a revolving door fueled by Ashnod's Altar, which funds Nether Traitor's recurring cost each time it is sacrificed. As the Traitor repeatedly hits the graveyard and returns, Kheru Goldkeeper and Insidious Roots act as your financial and botanical engines, capitalising on those zone changes to generate a steady stream of Treasures and growing Plant tokens. You can tap the Treasures for mana and tap the Plants for additional resources, turning the death of a single shadow creature into an unstoppable cascade of counters, mana, and tokens.
