How it works

1. Cast Baithook Angler from your graveyard for its disturb cost by paying 2, causing it to enter the battlefield transformed as Hook-Haunt Drifter.
2. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Hook-Haunt Drifter, adding 2.
3. Because Humility causes Hook-Haunt Drifter to lose all abilities, it is not exiled when it is sacrificed, and is returned to your graveyard as Baithook Angler.
4. Repeat.

This fascinating loop relies on Humility and Mycosynth Lattice working together to rewrite the rules of the board, turning Baithook Angler and its transformed side, Hook-Haunt Drifter, into a continuous engine. While Hook-Haunt Drifter normally exiles itself when put into a graveyard, Humility strips away its abilities—including that replacement effect—allowing it to return smoothly to the graveyard as Baithook Angler. From there, you simply use the mana generated by sacrificing it to Ashnod's Altar to recast it for its disturb cost, fueling an endless cycle of sacrifices, enters-the-battlefield triggers, and storm count.
