How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificng Chronosavant, adding 2.
2. Activate Chronosavant by paying 2, returning it to the battlefield from your graveyard and causing you to skip your next turn.
3. Repeat.

Mycosynth Lattice lays the vital groundwork for this loop by making all permanents artifacts, turning Chronosavant into an artifact creature that can be binned and sacrificed without restriction. Once Chronosavant is resting in your graveyard, you can activate its own ability for two mana to return it directly to the battlefield. From there, Ashnod's Altar steps in to provide that exact two-colorless mana by sacrificing the freshly returned Chronosavant, fueling the recursion loop indefinitely at the cost of skipping all your future turns to trap the game in a permanent lock.
