How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Imperious Oligarch, adding CC.
2. When Imperious Oligarch dies, it and Nim Deathmantle trigger,
3. Resolve the Imperious Oligarch trigger, creating a creature token.
4. Holding priority, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing a creature token, adding CC.
5. Resolve the Nim Deathmantle trigger, causing you to pay 4 to return Imperious Oligarch from your graveyard to the battlefield and attach Nim Deathmantle to it.
6. Repeat.

This clever little loop uses Ashnod's Altar as the engine to sacrifice Imperious Oligarch, generating the exact four mana needed to satisfy Nim Deathmantle's resurrection trigger. Whenever the Oligarch dies, its Afterlife 1 ability produces a helpful Spirit token that can be immediately sacrificed to the Altar for additional mana, while the Deathmantle steps in to return the Oligarch straight back to the battlefield equipped and ready to repeat the cycle.
