How it works
- Play a land.
- Sporemound triggers, creating a 1/1 Saproling token that is also a Forest.
- Repeat step 2 any number of times.
- Activate Ashnod's Altar any number of times by sacrificing Sporemound and any number of Saprolings, adding any amount of colorless mana.
The magic of this combination lies in the profound synergy between Life and Limb and Sporemound: because Life and Limb turns every Saproling into a Forest and every Forest into a Saproling, the very token that Sporemound creates upon a land's entry is itself a new Forest, triggering Sporemound all over again in an unyielding loop. Ashnod's Altar acts as the ultimate pressure valve in this ecosystem, allowing you to sacrifice those newly minted Saproling tokens—or even Sporemound itself—to generate infinite colorless mana while fueling endless death and sacrifice triggers. Unless an opponent can instantly disrupt the loop or a player steps in to stop the cascade, this unstoppable loop will endlessly trigger itself and force a draw of the game.
