How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Crookshank Kobolds, adding CC.
2. When Crookshank Kobolds dies, Nim Deathmantle triggers, choose not to pay for the trigger.
3. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Ruxa, adding CC.
4. When Ruxa dies, Nim Deathmantle triggers, causing you to pay 4 to return Ruxa from your graveyard to the battlefield, and attach Nim Deathmantle to it.
5. When Ruxa enters the battlefield, its first ability triggers, returning Crookshank Kobolds to your hand from your graveyard.
6. Cast Crookshank Kobolds by paying 0.
7. Repeat.

This intricate loop turns the free-casting nature of Crookshank Kobolds into an engine for an endless parade of sacrifices. By feeding creatures into Ashnod's Altar, you generate the exact mana needed to fuel Nim Deathmantle's triggered ability whenever Ruxa, Patient Professor hits the graveyard. Each time Ruxa is successfully resurrected by the Deathmantle, its entry trigger plucks the humble Crookshank Kobolds right back out of your graveyard and into your hand, ready to be recast for zero mana and fed to the Altar all over again.
