How it works

1. Cast Walking Ballista by paying 1, causing it to enter the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
2. Activate Together Forever by paying 1, targeting Walking Ballista.
3. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Walking Ballista, adding CC.
4. When Walking Ballista dies, Together Forever triggers, returning Walking Ballista from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Repeat.

This elegant loop revolves around Walking Ballista entering with a single +1/+1 counter when cast for just {1}, a cost gracefully reduced by Starnheim Courser making both your artifact and enchantment spells cheaper. You then target the Ballista with Together Forever's activation to ensure its return upon death, before feeding the construct directly to Ashnod's Altar for two colorless mana. Because that generated mana more than pays to recast Walking Ballista and reactivate Together Forever, you can repeat the process indefinitely to churn through your death, sacrifice, and entering-the-battlefield triggers at will.
