How it works

1. Cast Walking Ballista by paying 1, causing it to enter the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
2. Activate Together Forever by paying 1, targeting Walking Ballista.
3. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Walking Ballista, adding CC.
4. When Walking Ballista dies, Together Forever triggers, returning Walking Ballista from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Walking Ballista into an infinitely recycable engine by using Enthusiastic Mechanaut to discount its cost to a mere single generic mana, which is fully refunded by Ashnod's Altar each time the construct is sacrificed. Before sending Walking Ballista to the graveyard, you invest one of those mana into Together Forever's activation, ensuring that its death instantly returns it right back to your hand.
