How it works

1. Cast Walking Ballista by paying 1, causing it to enter the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
2. Activate Together Forever by paying 1, targeting Walking Ballista.
3. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Walking Ballista, adding CC.
4. When Walking Ballista dies, Together Forever triggers, returning Walking Ballista from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Repeat.

This loop relies on Together Forever's activated ability to continuously rescue Walking Ballista from the grave each time Ashnod's Altar converts the construct into raw colorless mana. Because Honest Rutstein discounts creature spells by {1}, casting Walking Ballista back out only costs a single mana, allowing the Altar's generated {C}{C} to fully fund the entire cycle with mana to spare.
