How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Tithe Taker, adding CC.
2. When Tithe Taker dies, its afterlife ability and Nim Deathmantle trigger.
3. Resolve the Tithe Taker trigger, creating a 1/1 Spirit creature token.
4. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the Spirit, adding CC.
5. Resolve the Nim Deathmantle trigger from step 2, causing you to pay 4 to return Tithe Taker from your graveyard to the battlefield, and attach Nim Deathmantle to it.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Ashnod's Altar into a self-sustaining engine by utilizing Tithe Taker's afterlife ability to generate a temporary sacrifice fodder token. When Tithe Taker is sacrificed to the Altar, it leaves behind a Spirit token that provides the second mana needed to pay for Nim Deathmantle's resurrection trigger. By funneling those colorless mana payments right back into the Deathmantle, you can endlessly bring Tithe Taker straight back from the graveyard to the battlefield, repeating the cycle for infinite sacrifices and triggers.
