How it works
- Cast Technomancer by paying 5.
- When Technomancer enters, it triggers, causing you to mill three cards and return Phyrexian Metamorph from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Technomancer.
- When Phyrexian Metamorph enters, it triggers. Holding priority, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Phyrexian Metamorph.
- Resolve the Phyrexian Metamorph trigger, causing you to mill three cards and return Phyrexian Metamorph from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Technomancer.
- Repeat from step 3.
This clever loop turns a graveyard recursion engine into an endless recycling machine by leveraging Technomancer's ability to pull back artifact creatures with a total mana value of 6 or less. Because Phyrexian Metamorph can enter the battlefield as a copy of Technomancer while retaining its own artifact nature, it immediately triggers the exact same recursion upon entering. Ashnod's Altar provides the crucial sacrifice outlet needed to fuel the loop by converting the Metamorph into colorless mana, allowing you to repeat this process indefinitely for an infinite storm count, endless sacrifice triggers, and unbounded colorless mana.
