How it works

1. Cast the artifact by paying 0.
2. Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers, earthbending Izzet Boilerworks.
3. Resolve the artifact spell.
4. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Izzet Boilerworks.
5. When Izzet Boilerworks dies, Toph, Hardheaded Teach triggers, returning Izzet Boilerworks from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
6. When Izzet Boilerworks enters, it triggers, returning the artifact cast in step 1 from the battlefield to your hand, as it's a land due to Toph, the First Metalbender.
7. Repeat.

When the Boilerworks hits the graveyard, its earthbend safety net brings it right back to the battlefield tapped, triggering its own entry ability to bounce your original artifact back to hand. Because Toph makes that artifact a land, the Boilerworks' bounce requirement is satisfied, letting you replay the artifact to restart the cycle for infinite mana and triggers.
