How it works

1. Cast the Insect from your hand or graveyard by paying 0 due to Aluren.
2. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the Insect.
3. When the Insect dies, Zask triggers.
4. Holding priority, cast the Insect from your graveyard by paying 0 due to Aluren.
5. Resolve the Zask ability, causing you to mill two cards.
6. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop turns the graveyard into your personal hand, using Aluren to bypass the mana costs of your low-cost Insect while Ashnod's Altar converts each sacrifice into a steady stream of colorless mana. Because Zask, Skittering Swarmlord allows you to cast those Insects right back out of your graveyard whenever they perish, you can infinitely repeat the cycle before Zask's own mill trigger even resolves. This engine effortlessly generates infinite death triggers, sacrifice triggers, and storm count on demand.
