How it works

1. Give Saber Ants indestructible, if needed.
2. Cause a creature to enter the battlefield under your control.
3. Halana triggers, causing you to pay 2 to have that creature deal damage equal to its power to Saber Ants.
4. Saber Ants triggers, causing you to create a 1/1 Insect creature token.
5. When the Insect enters the battlefield, Halana triggers.
6. Holding priority, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the Insect, adding CC.
7. Resolve the Halana trigger, causing you to pay 2 to deal 1 damage to Saber Ants.
8. Repeat from step 4.

This ingenious loop turns Halana, Kessig Ranger into a damage-dealing engine that exploits Saber Ants' unique ability to breed tokens whenever they take harm. Because Halana's triggered ability requires a mana investment of {2} each time, Ashnod's Altar steps in as the crucial economic engine, turning each newly spawned 1/1 Insect into the exact two colorless mana needed to pay for the next iteration.
