How it works
Activate Agonasaur Rex's cycling ability by paying 2 and discarding it.
Agonasaur Rex triggers, putting two +1/+1 counters on Evolution Witness.
Evolution Witness triggers, returning Agonasaur Rex from your graveyard to your hand.
Insidious Roots triggers, creating a 0/1 Plant creature token, and then putting a +1/+1 counter on each Plant you control.
Resolve the Agonasaur Rex ability from step 1, causing you to draw a card.
Activate the Plant by tapping it, adding .
Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the tapped Plant, adding CC.
Repeat.
This clever loop relies on cycling Agonasaur Rex to distribute +1/+1 counters onto Evolution Witness, which in turn triggers its ability to pull the discarded dinosaur right back to your hand. Meanwhile, Insidious Roots watches your graveyard closely—since the cycling action causes Agonasaur Rex to leave the graveyard, it rewards you with a Plant token that you can immediately tap for mana and feed to Ashnod's Altar to generate the exact resources needed to keep cycling. While Anger quietly slumbers in your graveyard granting haste if you control a Mountain, this engine loops infinitely to draw your deck, churn out endless death and sacrifice triggers, and amass a towering army of counters.
