How it works
- Activate Kaya's second loyalty ability by removing two loyalty counters from it, causing you to double any tokens you create this turn.
- Activate Survey Mechan by sacrificing it.
- When Survey Mechan dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Survey Mechan from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
- Chalk Outline triggers, creating two creature tokens and two Clue tokens
- Resolve the Survey Mechan ability, dealing 3 damage to any target and causing you to draw three cards and gain 3 life.
- Activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing the two creature tokens, adding CCCC.
- Cast Survey Mechan by paying 4.
- Repeat from step 2.
This clever loop turns Survey Mechan into a self-sustaining engine by abusing its low effective casting cost and a clever graveyard-to-library pipeline. When you sacrifice Survey Mechan to its own activation cost, Mortuary immediately intercepts it on the way to the graveyard, placing it right back on top of your library so you can draw it again with the Mechan's own triggered effect. Meanwhile, Chalk Outline watches Survey Mechan leave the graveyard, triggering to flood the board with Detective and Clue tokens—an output doubled thanks to the passive replacement effect waiting from Kaya, Geist Hunter's second loyalty ability. Finally, Ashnod's Altar converts those freshly minted tokens into the colorless mana needed to recast Survey Mechan from the top of your library, fueling an endless cycle of damage, card draw, and infinite artifacts.
