How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Moss-Pit Skeleton.
2. When Moss-Pit Skeleton dies, Long Feng and Verdant Succession trigger.
3. Resolve the Long Feng trigger, putting a +1/+1 counter on a creature you control.
4. Moss-Pit Skeleton triggers, putting itself from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
5. Resolve the Verdant Succession trigger, searching your library for Moss-Pit Skeleton and putting it onto the battlefield.
6. Repeat.

This loop is a masterclass in recursive recycling, using Ashnod's Altar to continuously sacrifice Moss-Pit Skeleton for colorless mana while fueling a self-sustaining engine. Whenever the Skeleton dies, Verdant Succession lets you fish a fresh copy straight from your library onto the battlefield, and because it enters as a green creature, the cycle is primed to repeat. Meanwhile, Long Feng, Grand Secretariat acts as the crucial bridge by turning every creature death into a +1/+1 counter trigger, which immediately snatches Moss-Pit Skeleton out of your graveyard and sets it back on top of your library just in time for the next search.
