How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing a nontoken green creature, adding CC.
2. When the creature dies, Verdant Succession triggers.
3. Holding priority, activate Sundering Archaic by paying 2, putting the creature from your graveyard onto the bottom of your library.
4. Resolve the Verdant Succession trigger, searching your library for the green creature and putting it onto the battlefield.
5. Repeat.

This ingenious loop turns Sundering Archaic into a self-recycling engine fueled by Ashnod's Altar and Verdant Succession. By sacrificing your green creature to the Altar for colorless mana, you trigger Verdant Succession to fetch a replacement directly from your library, but since that card is still resting in your graveyard, Sundering Archaic steps in with its activation to tuck the card safely back to the bottom where the search can find it again. This precise manipulation of the graveyard and library allows you to endlessly cycle your creature for infinite enter-the-battlefield, death, and sacrifice triggers.
