How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Thorin, adding CC.
2. When Thorin dies, Nim Deathmantle triggers, causing you to pay 4 to return Thorin from your graveyard to the battlefield and attach Nim Deathmantle to it.
3. When Thorin enters, it triggers, attaching Nim Deathmantle to Vrondiss, and then having it deal damage to itself.
4. Vrondiss triggers, creating a creature token.
5. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the creature token, adding CC.
6. Repeat.

This loop operates as an engine of relentless recycling, fueled by Ashnod's Altar to generate the mana needed to keep the cycle going. When you sacrifice Thorin, Mountain-king, the Altar provides two colorless mana, and Nim Deathmantle steps in to resurrect Thorin right back to the battlefield for four mana, immediately reattaching itself. Because Thorin enters the battlefield and targets Vrondiss, Rage of Ancients with its equipment attachment trigger, Vrondiss is automatically dealt 1 damage. That self-inflicted damage triggers Vrondiss to hatch a 5/4 Dragon Spirit token, which you can promptly feed right back into Ashnod's Altar to fund the next iteration of Nim Deathmantle's resurrection fee.
