How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Cathodion, adding CC.
2. When Cathodion dies, it and Mortuary trigger.
3. Resolve the Cathodion trigger, adding CCC.
4. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Cathodion on top of your library from your graveyard.
5. Cast Cathodion from the top of your library by paying 3.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop harnesses Cathodion's unique dying trigger to fuel its own recursive journey, starting when you sacrifice it to Ashnod's Altar to generate initial mana. Thanks to Mortuary, Cathodion bypasses the graveyard entirely by slipping straight back onto the top of your library every time it perishes. Experimental Frenzy then provides the crucial top-deck access, letting you continuously cast the automaton right off your library using the very mana it helps produce.
