How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Kobolds of Kher Keep
2. When Kobolds of Kher Keep dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Kobolds of Kher Keep from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Cast Kobolds of Kher Keep from the top of your library by paying 0 life.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on the zero-mana cost of Kobolds of Kher Keep to fuel a self-sustaining engine right off the top of your library. When you sacrifice the Kobolds to Ashnod's Altar, Mortuary immediately catches the creature as it hits the graveyard and tucks it back onto the top of your library. From there, Gwenom, Remorseless grants you permission to play that top card directly—and because the Kobolds cost zero, Gwenom's life-payment replacement effect conveniently drops to zero life as well, leaving your life total untouched while the Altar keeps generating a steady stream of colorless mana.
