How it works

  1. Activate Agonasaur Rex's cycling ability by paying 2G mana and discarding it.
  2. Agonasaur Rex triggers, putting two +1/+1 counters on Evolution Witness.
  3. Evolution Witness triggers, returning Agonasaur Rex from your graveyard to your hand.
  4. Insidious Roots triggers, creating a 0/1 Plant creature token, and then putting a +1/+1 counter on each Plant you control.
  5. Resolve the Agonasaur Rex ability from step 1, causing you to draw a card.
  6. Activate the Plant by tapping it, adding G mana.
  7. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the tapped Plant, adding CC.
  8. Repeat.
