How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Martyr for the Cause, adding CC.
2. Martyr for the Cause dies, triggering itself and Magnanimous Magistrate twice.
3. Resolve both Martyr for the Cause triggers, causing you to put two reprieve counters on Magnanimous Magistrate.
4. Resolve the first Magnanimous Magistrate trigger, choosing not to remove any counters.
5. Remove the second Magnanimous Magistrate trigger, causing you to remove two reprieve counters from Magnanimous Magistrate and return Martyr for the Cause from your graveyard to the battlefield.
6. Repeat.
