How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Wretched Throng, adding CC.
2. When Wretched Throng dies, it and Pitiless Plunderer trigger.
3. Holding priority, activate Sundering Archaic by paying 2, putting Wretched Throng from your graveyard onto the bottom of your library.
4. Resolve the Pitiless Plunderer trigger, creating a Treasure token.
5. Resolve the Wretched Throng trigger, putting Wretched Throng from your library into your hand.
6. Activate the Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding .
7. Cast Wretched Throng by paying due to The Water Crystal.
8. Repeat.

This clever loop uses Ashnod's Altar to sacrifice Wretched Throng for two colorless mana while simultaneously triggering Pitiless Plunderer to create a Treasure token. With the help of The Water Crystal reducing blue spell costs, that Treasure's mana is enough to recast the Throng, which feeds right back into the Altar. Meanwhile, Sundering Archaic acts as the crucial graveyard-recycling engine, using its activated ability to continuously shuffle the Throng from your graveyard back to the bottom of your library so Wretched Throng's own death trigger can fetch it right back to your hand.
