How it works
Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing another nontoken creature, adding CC.
When the creature dies, Nim Deathmantle triggers. Choose not to pay.
Activate Xu-Ifit by tapping it, returning a creature from your graveyard to the battlefield.
Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Xu-Ifit, adding CC.
When Xu-Ifit dies, Nim Deathmantle triggers, causing you to pay 4 to return it from your graveyard to the battlefield and attach Nim Deathmantle to it.
Repeat.
This recursive loop relies on Ashnod's Altar as the engine to fuel Nim Deathmantle's resurrection trigger, converting your fallen creatures into both the mana needed for the recast and the necessary death triggers. While Xu-Ifit, Osteoharmonist normally brings creatures back as vanilla Skeletons with a tap ability, here it instead serves as a recurring sacrifice fodder when fed right back into the Altar to help pay the Deathmantle's steep four-mana resurrection cost. Meanwhile, Tuktuk Rubblefort sits quietly in the background, ensuring any creatures returned to the battlefield immediately gain haste so you can take full advantage of their arrival.
