How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Tatterkite
2. When Tatterkite dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to its static effect.
3. Repeat.

This elegant loop harnesses the interaction between Ashnod's Altar and the Isilu face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight, which grants persist to your nontoken creatures. When you sacrifice Tatterkite to the Altar for colorless mana, its persist trigger would normally return it with a -1/-1 counter; however, Tatterkite's own static ability prevents counters from ever being placed on it. This means Tatterkite returns to the battlefield completely untouched, ready to be sacrificed over and over again to generate an endless supply of colorless mana along with infinite artifact and creature triggers.
