How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing another nontoken creature, adding CC.
2. When the creature dies, Nim Deathmantle triggers. Choose not to pay.
3. Activate Xu-Ifit by tapping it, returning a creature from your graveyard to the battlefield.
4. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Xu-Ifit, adding CC.
5. When Xu-Ifit dies, Nim Deathmantle triggers, causing you to pay 4 to return it from your graveyard to the battlefield and attach Nim Deathmantle to it.
6. Repeat.

This brilliant engine transforms the simple act of sacrifice into an endless cycle of reclamation, fueled by Ashnod's Altar providing the exact mana needed to keep the gears turning. While Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler grants much-needed haste to your activated abilities, Xu-Ifit, Osteoharmonist takes center stage as the recursive engine pulling fallen creatures back from the grave. When those creatures inevitably hit the battlefield, Nim Deathmantle steps in to catch Xu-Ifit upon its death, using the Altar's mana to immediately loop the Osteoharmonist right back into play and reattach itself for the next iteration.
